BENEFITS
OF MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING
Health
and Fitness
Shintaikido
workouts are geared towards providing stretching and cardiovascular
exercise, while releasing the physical and mental tension of today’s stressful
life.
Self
Defense
Self-defense
training is the most basic reason for anyone to train in Shintaikido. All
classes are geared toward this goal along with teaching that respect and
discipline are the most important aspects of any art. It is not my intention to
create gladiators since that would make the art nothing more than pugilism.
Personal
Growth
Training
in Shintaikido involves learning to be respectful of others. It also requires a
great deal of self-discipline. As you learn what, when, and how to practice, you
may find in your daily life that you can concentrate better, complete more
tasks, and do so with less stress.
Benefits
for Children
At
Shintaikido of Pacifica, my concern, first and foremost, is with your child’s
future. Shintaikido is goal oriented, and my goal is to complement your efforts
in helping your children to become respectful, responsible adults. I want to
make your child’s first experience with the martial arts a safe and productive
one. Shintaikido strengthens their body and instills in them the qualities of
character, self-discipline, and respect for others.
Benefits
for Adults
Training
in Shintaikido offers many benefits for the adult student. Adults who
participate in regular exercise programs are better able to handle stress, and
tend to lead healthier, more focused lives.
Benefits
for Women
Although
it is true that the average man’s strength is greater than the average
woman’s, Shintaikido training can bring a woman’s fighting ability up to a
higher level than that of a male assailant. Women who study Shintaikido develop
an awareness of potentially dangerous situations. Should she not be able to
avoid a self-defense situation, her training will have prepared her to use her
skills. Shintaikido is also a challenging, fun way to stay fit and trim, with an
added factor not found in dance, weight training, or aerobics programs... and
that is self defense.
